f1 Student Visa
Welcome to UCEDA International. We want your F-1 visa application to be a success. By following these 3 EASY STEPS, we make it easy to study English in the USA.
Begin the application process with UCEDA International at least 60 days before you plan to start attending classes.
To prepare your Form I-20 “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status,” the school is required to collect additional documents from you.
- Copy of passport
- Financial evidence (usually bank statements, from you and/or a sponsor)
- Application Fee ($150)
Students must show that they have sufficient funds to cover all educational and living expenses while in the USA.

After the Application Fee is paid, the UCEDA admissions team will begin reviewing your documents. You will receive an email with an invitation link to schedule a zoom interview with a UCEDA representative to give you feedback on your documents and review your eligibility to study at UCEDA International. We’ll ask just a few questions to make sure you are prepared for your visa interview.
Schedule your admissions interview via Zoom
After your admissions interview, you will receive an email with your admissions decision. If you are accepted by the school, you will receive a Form I-20 and acceptance letter from UCEDA International.
When you have an acceptance letter and Form I-20 from UCEDA International, you can:
- Visit fmjfee.com to pay the I-901 SEVIS fee of $350 for the U.S. government to activate your SEVIS ID. Your SEVIS ID number is on your Form I-20 provided by UCEDA. You must pay this fee after receiving the Form I-20 and before your visa interview. Print your payment confirmation receipt!
- Visit ceac.state.gov/genniv/ to complete Form DS-160 which is an online form for Non-immigrant Visa Application. After payment, print the confirmation page, which has a barcode.
- Schedule an appointment for your visa interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in the country where you live. Visit usembassy.gov

Note: A new $250 “visa integrity fee” may be required by the U.S. government if your F-1 visa is approved.
After receiving your F-1 Visa approval, book your flight! You can enter the USA within 30-days prior to your program start date. Your program start date is written on your Form I-20 provided by UCEDA.

What is the F-1 visa?
The F-1 visa allows you to enter the United States to study full-time at a school that is approved by the U.S. government to enroll international students.
What is a Form I-20?
The Form I-20 is a “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status” (see example). This document is required to apply for the F-1 visa. It can be issued only by a designated official from a U.S. government-approved school.
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum 18 years of age or older, citizen of a country where English is not the predominant language, basic understanding of the English alphabet, committed to attending a full-time program of 18 hours per week and staying compliant with F-1 visa regulations. Note: Citizens of select countries may be affected by current visa issuance restrictions.
